I'm signing off gentlemen and I didn't want to just disappear without a trace. Its been fun while it lasted and I appreciate all of the help and great info that you have given me. It seems as though the forum is done for now. A resurgence in interest would be nice but I don't see it happening, but who knows. Take care everyone and God Bless.

Regards,
David C.

Sorry to see you go, I will be here if I can help with anything, most forums are slow at the moment but no need not to stop in and say hello from time to time so we know you are still kicking.

Sorry to hear this as well. I wish the forum was more active, this is a very rare "Friendly" forum, the mods and admins dont have "short man" syndrome, there are no bullies or unpleasant personalities, nor have there ever been, not to my knowledge. Plus there are not any "know it all's" and we all know how many of those our shooting sports has! (just listen closely next time round a gunshow, or in a gunshop, usually some one behind the counter oozes arrogance and gets off belittling us ignorant peons, whom they did the huge favor of opening the doors for)

And then we have this forum, where everyone is so nice, cool and pleasant! But everyone has also been very absent too, MYSELF INCLUDED. I drop in from time to time, usually nothing has happend, to I dont post. Ive tried getting my shooting buddies to come by, but for a new forum visitor, the place isnt very attractive because there is no activity RockIsland, I will make a concious effort to come by more often. At least You and I can chat, Ill miss David, he was really a great guy. Always kind and fun to chat with. God bless and keep You David, hope to see You round here again sometime.

Rock, what can be done to get forum activity up?

Nice to see you around SHY_BEAR
Activity is low on every forum these days or so it seems to me, I am an admin on one milsurp forum, and three black powder forums and we are all seeing slow days. Higher milsurp prices are keeping the new guys from buying that first milsurp, the older ones aren't shooting as much due to skyrocketing ammo costs so they have less to talk about. I was collecting heavily a few years back, but in the last couple of years I have only added a few black powder cartridge rifles and a Turk Mauser. I have no idea what to do to increase membership and traffic, other than fix the economy, and if I could do that I would find myself the next president. 2007 was the last good year before it all went to hell, on my other forum I was seeing new members arrive daily, many dozens of new posts, more than I could keep up with. The members including myself were buying so many guns we lost track after awhile, we were all working to capacity, the cash was flowing in and we were all having one hell of a milsurp party, then we hit the wall and the party ended. People are still buying milsurps, but in ones rather than fives and tens, and many months apart rather than weekly. I have the same trouble with my friends, some of them don't even own computers, and the ones that do never spend any more time on them than it takes to check email or place another ammo order, just not interested in forums or anything not involving them being at the range shooting when it comes to talking guns. I don't know what happened to the rest of the membership around here, probably out trying to keep their heads above water like me most days. All we can do is stop in from time to time and hope for the best, I am not even sure we have any administration here anymore, but the ones that were here didn't have the "short man" syndrome I like that one I know that guy, and his brother mouth behind the counter, known a few like him also, they hate me because I will correct him when I catch a mistake, and I always catch one
