Huge Thumbs Up Dave, I agree bout the shotgun being PERFECT for the house hehe. I will try and attach a pic of the new 870. I ordered it and it come factory new with an 18 inch barrel, synthetic stocks, and black matte finish, and magazine extension (2 shot) for a total of 6, 2 3/4" shells. Ive added sling swivels, and will soon order a light mount for my streamlight scorpion which will munt on the front. I also added a side saddle to hold 6 more rounds. That is all I will be doing to it. A short pump action shotgun with a high power light and high cap mag is my idea of perfect home deffence. It will guard my home from now on:)

Good to see you are alive and kicking shy bear, can't beat a shotgun in the house, I have many but it's my Winchester Model 1897 trench gun that I like best. No disconector so you can hold the trigger back and just fire it by working the slide, it will fire as fast as you can work the slide, and with practice that can be pretty fast, a real trench sweeper. It's always near me as I sleep. M1A1 carbine is a nice one as well, when it's packed into it's jump case you can almost carry it on the belt like a pistol. I picked one up back in the 90's, Inland, early flip sight, 1943 Atlas Awning jump case, a real handy little rifle. However should things go from bad to worse I have my M14.

Great shot gun porn you guys! I like the look of the spare shell holder Shy-Bear, very bad-ass. Besides being a great home defense weapon these are a lot of fun to shoot. A friend has a nice over-under that I have fired. The over-under is a classic look but I like the pump action style.

Great trench gun. I had seen a Norinco (I think it was a Norinco) trench gun reproduction at a gun show but stayed away from it. I would love to have the real deal but that wont be happening anytime soon.

Geeze...and an M14! Now THAT has got to be a lot of fun.

The M14 is the M1 Garand with the addition of a 20 round detachable magazine, and a redesigned gas system, it is a lot of fun on the range, lets hope I never have to find out how much fun it is during a SHTF situation.

Oh wow, those are some beautiful rifles & shotgun Rock, LOVE em. That trench gun will handle home protection to perfection. I had some of my pals ask if I was going to put a pistol grip on the 870. NO WAY. "Oh, but you can handle it so much faster and makes it shorter, so its easier to use in the house!"...... nope! Yeah, it looks good, is basically what they think, but I go for function. I find the 12 gauge too much gun for a pistol grip, and I cannot aim near as well with the pistol grip shotguns. Oh, I have a short 12 gauge with a pistol grip like that, but I never use it, its hard to shoot and hit with. But this 870, with a powerful light suits me better and I can hit with it

I have a M1-Carbine barreled receiver on order, I have no idea what to expect, so will let Yall know how that goes, but I am hearing more and more about folks liking the M1-Carbine for home deffence. Hey Rock, is Your Paratrooper Carbine an original WWII made one or a new manufactured one? What do You guys all think of the new manufactured M1 Carbines? Im wanting a Para troop carbine, to go with My Grandfathers WWII stuff. You know what they say though, want in one and and crap in the other to see which one fills up faster, lol!

Nice to be chatting with You all, thanaks for the compliments bout my new Shotgun Dave, Im very pleased with it, my only complaint is that I have probs with it not wanting to except shells when I re-load. They get hung somehow and dont want to go up in the mag, Im thinking of calling Remington bout it...

Some nice scatterguns adn carbines and rifles fella's........... just moved into a new house and a friend gave me a old Ithaca M37 16g shotgun as a housewarming gift. 14 1/2" barrel with a 4" cutts compensator fused to it. Figure 16 gauge will be a good one for my wife to handle if need be. I prefer 12 but I have some spunky ammo for my double barrel. Looking for another M37 ithaca 12g or a winnie M12 with a short tube on it Will be this old mans "house" gun for mainitaining social disturbances
